5 Ways To Reduce Digital Eye Strain

With the rise of technology, digital screens are becoming increasingly prevalent in our everyday lives. From streaming entertainment and playing video games, to communicating with friends and family, to working on computers, we’re spending more time looking at screens than ever before. Unfortunately, all this screen time has resulted in over 60 percent of adult Americans reporting symptoms of digital eye strain. Thankfully, there are some simple steps that can be taken to reduce eye strain and make our work easier on our eyes.

Follow The 20-20-20 Rule To Give Your Eyes A Break  One of the easiest ways to reduce digital eye strain is by following the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, take a 20 second break from your screen and look at something 20 feet away from you. This gives your eyes a much needed break from the constant strain of looking at a screen for hours each day. Taking regular breaks throughout the day can help reduce eyestrain dramatically.

Adjust Your Screen Settings It’s also important to make sure your screens are set up properly for optimal viewing comfort. Make sure your brightness setting isn’t too high or too low – it should match the room lighting as closely as possible – and adjust other settings such as contrast, text size and font type to suit your preferences. When adjusting settings on multiple monitors, use one monitor as a reference point so they all match each other evenly in terms of brightness/contrast levels and color saturation/temperature.

Position Your Screens Properly Proper positioning is also key when it comes to reducing digital eye strain. If you’re using multiple monitors, make sure they are spaced out far enough that you don’t have to move your head around too much when switching between them. Position them at an angle of about 30 degrees from each other so that you don't have to turn your head so much when looking from one screen to another. The top edge of your monitor should be slightly below eye level so you don't have to look down while working or gaming on it.

Use Anti-Glare Covers An anti-glare cover placed over your computer monitor can go a long way toward reducing glare and making it easier on the eyes while working or gaming for extended periods of time. Anti-glare covers are relatively inexpensive and will last for several years before needing replacement due to wear and tear.

Invest In BluTech  light blocking glasses are designed specifically to block out blue light emitted by screens that can cause digital eyestrain symptoms like headaches and blurred vision after prolonged exposure . These glasses come in various styles ranging from clear lenses (which allow some blue light through) to tinted lenses (which block out almost all blue light).

Reducing digital eye strain is important not only for comfort but also for productivity; workers who spend hours looking at screens each day can experience a 20 percent drain on productivity if their eyes aren't properly cared for! Fortunately, there are many simple steps we can take—from following the 20-20-20 rule to investing in blue light blocking glasses—to make our work easier on our eyes and keep us productive throughout the day!  By taking these measures into account, we can ensure we're not straining our eyes while spending time in front of screens both professionally and recreationally!
